Beautiful Ladies
Apr. 28th, 2002 06:49 pmHave discovered new favorite comic artist (always liked his stuff, never remembered his name)
Adam Hughes. Very cool.
Look at his pretty, pretty Rainmaker.
There's only one minor. Er. Thing. He's rather. Well. Breast focused. Not that that is an entirely bad thing ... some of the time.
Anyway.
There's an absolutely gorgeous Jean Grey and Emma Frost cover that he did for one of the comic magazines (wizard, previews, I dunno, still looking for it). So pretty.
And I think he's symptomatic of my favorite artists. They all make people look real, feel solid and tangible. Terry Dodson. Travis Charest. David Mack. Alex Ross. The exception is probably Michael Turner, although he's been improving. Lately Aspen has thigh muscles, amazing!
Hee. Anyway. The great read goes on. G'bye Dirty Pair and You're Under Arrest. Both still funny and cutely drawn, but for whatever reason, not currently doing it for me.
Strangely enough. Battle Chasers made it through the sensors. Yup. It's bright and well drawn, and that's all it really means to be. Fun and splashy. My personal issues with Mad's work ethic aside, that's not such a bad thing.
