Further adventuring yielded Buffy Season 2, sadly I couldn't find anyone to rejoice with me (the parents are such heathens). My impression has always been that it was on the whole one of the more depressing seasons (along with 6 and some of 3), but I don't know if that's because episodes like the Becoming set cast such a long shadow. I suppose I now have the opportunity to find out.

The day ended with me breaking down and ordering the blasted extended version from Amazon, with the side treat of Season 1 along with. Amazon has it for downright cheap as entire seasons of anything go. Most of the Christmas money (except for a bit reserved for books) is now gone, but I had fun while it lasted.

I've also just started to reread the Dark is Rising series (after who knows how many years) and it's interesting to see what stayed with me and what didn't. The near entirety of the plot has vanished from the grey cells, while odd not entirely accurate pictures of the characters have remained. It's also hard to tell whether my supposition about what is going to happen (and what the backstory is) comes from memory or from the text.

Movies seen : 3
Catch me if you can : Very funny and genuinely human. Great casting and no Spielberg issues for me.

As I've been watching more Buffy I'm starting to find that Season II is my favorite, with some of the best plots and some really good acting, except for David Boreanaz. I don't know why, but I don't like his acting all that much, but he is necessary for the second season to work as well as it did.

I find that in terms of Boreanaz Season 1 is always what gets to me. Joss and the writing people didn't seem to have Angel quite figured out and DB didn't quite seem to have the acting thing down either so yeah. And then there's always the fact that he's so skinny and the latent maternal instinct kicking in, which is never a good thing.

Season 2 (now having watched or rewatched all except for the Becoming set) doesn't strike me that way nearly as much. The weirdest thing is seeing the Buffy / Angel thing in a continuous way that I haven't seen since it aired and no longer feeling as invested in their whole starcrossed romance. Or at least in soulmates for ever terms that the show seems to push. Now, years later and an adult (more or less) I don't really see them as having that much in common.

Naming a favorite season is so hard for me. I like alot that came out of Season 4, both in terms of episodes and plot development, but I'm not sure about the season as a whole (not so into the whole Adam thing).

And whoa, I could so keep going and going.
