So hmm. Interesting, yes. I didn't really find the drug correllations too heavy handed. It did seem to happen kind of quick though, it would have been better maybe to show her going to the 'dealer' over a period of time, work it in as a substory in other episodes or something and then have the big crash and burn. Poor Dawn. Poor Willow too, but yeah, she's an adult. I will be kind of sad if it goes to zero magic and won't that be kind of a problem? Saving the world wise and all. It does seem to be needed a good deal.
In reading some other live journal reactions I was kind of puzzled by the take of other people on the very last scene, with Buffy in her bedroom, surrounded by the garlic, clutching a cross. She didn't look scared to me, I was comparing her to Willow one room over, suffering the pangs of addiction and all. I thought more that Buffy was keeping herself *in* rather than Spike out.
I did feel sorry for him though. He's a bit of a puzzle. Can do good, and it seems to be becoming a bit of a reflex at times. The way he helped Dawn when she was all little and hurt. It'd be hard for me to believe that every single second he does something nice he's internally calculating the effect it'll have on Buffy et all.
